Head Coach Matt Eberflus Takes Responsibility for Bears' 0-4 Start

Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus didn't mince words after his team blew a 21-point lead and lost to the Denver Broncos, 31-28, on Sunday.

"When you're 0-4, no one's done the job well enough," Eberflus said. "That's just the facts. It's a results business, and we have to do a better job collectively as a group."

The Bears' loss to the Broncos was their fourth straight to open the season, and their 14th straight loss dating back to last year. It was also their first 0-4 start since 2002.

Eberflus was hired in the offseason to replace Matt Nagy as head coach, but he has yet to win a game in Chicago. He has been criticized for his game management decisions, and the Bears have struggled to execute on both sides of the ball.

Despite the team's struggles, Eberflus said he remains confident in his players and his coaching staff.

"I'm not going to give up on these guys," Eberflus said. "We're going to keep fighting, and we're going to find a way to win."

However, Eberflus' job security is now in serious doubt. The Bears have one of the youngest and most inexperienced rosters in the NFL, and it could take several years for them to turn things around.

If the Bears don't start winning soon, Eberflus could be fired before the end of the season.

In addition to his comments about the team's overall performance, Eberflus also addressed some specific decisions he made during the game against the Broncos.

He was particularly criticized for his decision to go for it on fourth-and-1 instead of kicking a field goal with three minutes left in the game and the score tied at 28. The Bears failed to convert, and the Broncos went on to win the game.

Eberflus said he made the decision to go for it because he wanted to "seal the deal" and win the game. However, he acknowledged that it was a mistake.

"I made the wrong decision," Eberflus said. "I should have kicked the field goal."

Eberflus also said he is looking at ways to improve the team's offense, which has struggled to score points all season.

"We have to find a way to be more consistent on offense," Eberflus said. "We have to move the ball better and score more points."

The Bears will have a chance to get their first win of the season next week when they travel to Washington to face the Commanders
